Kuwait Camel Racing Club..

Yesterday's trip was to Kuwait's Camel Racing Club in Chabd. It's my first time there so I didn't know what to expect; all I can say is that it was a delightful experience. They were so nice to us considering that we were four girls and a guy not wearing a dishdasha in a very traditional sporting event that involved lots and lots of traditional men. They even invited us to have some camel milk and Arabian coffee.

We were greeted by the public relations guy, he showed us where to sit but we asked him if can go to the finish line. He gladly guided us over to the finish line and started talking camels to us which was kind of interesting and informative while waiting for the camels to show up.

As the stampede of camels and SUVs approached the finish line we started snapping as much pictures as humanly possible.

The race involved 5 legs, that started at 3:00pm, we missed three legs and only witnessed the last two.

The camels are ridden by robotic jockeys.

Camel racing season starts in October and ends in February. Every Thursday at 2:30pm or 3:00pm

Kuwait Camel Racing Club's telephone is 5394015
